Report: 49ers' Moss To Return For One More Year

Randy Moss will not be leaving on a high note if the 49ers win the Super Bowl on Sunday. According to Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio, Moss will return for one more year whether his team wins or loses on Feb. 3.

Moss was expected to retire once again after a rather quiet, yet productive, season with the NFC champions. A season so quiet almost certainly would lead to retirement for the 35-year-old, but evidently he has other plans.

In a surprising turn of events, it was David Akers who seemingly won the kicker battle that ensued for the better part of the last week.

San Francisco 49ers: Drafting Aldon Smith Means the Return of Alex Smith

So with Blaine Gabbert, Prince Amukamara and Robert Quinn still on the 2011 NFL Draft board, the 49ers drafted a 21-year-old defensive end from Missouri.

Welcome to the San Francisco 49ers Aldon Smith?

It doesn't have the same ring to it that maybe Blaine Gabbert does, but it is a somewhat knowledgeable pick.

If I could compare the pick to another Bay Area team's draft pick, it would be the Golden State Warriors' selection of Anthony Randolph in 2008.
