If the 49ers weren’t awkward and untrusting of any form of
media, it wouldn’t be a normal media session with the team. However, Saturday’s
romping defeat of the Packers, and a birth in the NFC Championship game for the
second year in a row, only provided the team the opportunity to shed light on

Harbaugh, 49ers Will Have Hard Time Keeping Assistant Coaches

ceremonial day of coaching staff firings that occur one day after the final
week of the season. There are currently seven openings for a head coach around
the NFL, and there are successful teams with successful coordinators that are
coveted to fill them.

49ers Sign Kicker Cundiff, Keep Struggling Akers

NFC Championship: San Francisco 49ers vs. New York Giants Preview & Prediction

Looking back at the San Francisco 49ers vs. New York Giants Week 9 match-up in mid-November, it did not seem totally out of the question that either team would make the Super Bowl. The Giants were 6-2 and coming off a win against the New England Patriots, and the 49ers were a surprising 7-1, not to mention a play or two away from being 8-0.

The report listed five players that were all listed as questionable, leaving it up to the public (and the Saints) who will play and who will sit in the 49ers' first playoff game in nine seasons.
