Report: San Francisco Giants Interested in Scott Hairston

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

That is not what Scott Hairston is saying these days, but it is what the San Francisco Giants have admitted by reportedly showing interest in the "Giant Killer".

CSN Bay Area's Andrew Baggarly is reporting that the Giants have inquired about Hairston, who has grown a large reputation for being a real hamper to
the Giants on nearly every team he has played for. In fact, the entire Hairston family is much the same way.
ESPN's Adam Rubin is also reporting that the Giants, among other teams, have "real interest" in Hairston.

At best, the Giants are looking at Hairston being a fourth outfielder to back up Angel Pagan, Hunter Pence and Gregor Blanco in the outfield. Obviously, the Giants are not keen on going with Blanco in left fielder for the entirety of the season, which is why the team is reportedly in search of another outfielder just in case. Hairston fits that build.

On a side note, the Giants being in search of another outfielder hints at the fact that prospect Gary Brown may not be in the immediate plans for this team.
